ABOUT PLEASANTVIEW APARTMENTS
PROUDLY SERVING THE BRIDGEPORT & FAIRFIELD, CT AREAS

At the beginning of this severe economic downturn, we took an action that some called foolhardy. We began to design and build a green, quiet, affordable apartment building. Despite the challenges of the times, we knew it could be done. We sought out a convenient, attractive residential area in Bridgeport, CT and started planning. Our chief concern was to build with the utmost respect for the environment and the health and safety of all who would reside there.


Architect Patrick Rose of the firm Rose Tiso, with whom we achieved great success on a previous project, was the obvious choice to design Pleasantview Apartments. We named the project after the fabulous, far-reaching views available from many of its dwelling units. We wanted a building that would have no carbon footprint and would be a comfortable, affordable, clean, and convenient living space. In the first part of 2010, our vision became a reality. Now we serve the Fairfield & Bridgeport, CT areas with affordable apartments for rent. Whether you need a two bedroom apartment or something smaller, we are here for you!

HOW DID WE DO IT?

Rose Tiso brought in one of its best structural engineers, Raffaele Aschettino, to design the foundation and the structural steel frame that would support the entire building.


The design incorporates the latest earthquake- and hurricane-resistant national building codes for infrastructure with tremendous strength and durability. Rose then designed the superstructure to continue the emphasis on strength; the framing consists entirely of 2x6 exterior walls instead of 2x4, and hurricane reinforcement that bolts the floors and walls together in 800 places. 


Pleasantview is built for today's stringent building codes. Here's a little more information:

 

  • Complete sprinkler system in apartments and hallways as well as the covered parking area.
  • UL soundproofing in the wall and ceiling assemblies for very quiet apartments. Many people who have visited the building under construction cannot believe how quiet it is inside, even with 50 craftsmen working.
  • Wall and ceiling insulation that ranges all the way up to R65. This will minimize heat escape for super energy efficiency, lowering heating and cooling costs.  
  • Fireproofing on the structural steel frame and deck.
  • K13 insulation on the ceiling of the covered parking area creating a safer, quieter parking area.
  • Ceramic tile in hallways, stairways, kitchens, and bathrooms. Hardwood-style laminate flooring in the rest of the living space eliminates carpeting and its risk of many sanitary problems.
  • No natural gas on premises for a safer, carbon-free living.
